In this lab we will have 2 stages .

Content Of The First Stage:

circuit #1

Hardware connection:

How does this circuit work?

If we replaced the Potentiometer with fixed resistance we need to calculate its value.

Side note : the intensity will be constant.

Given data:

Since connection is series.Therfore, the current is constant for the whole circuit =20mA

circuit #2

Hardware connection:

How does this circuit work?

If we need to make the opposite functionality and let the led on only when they are the same

We will change the connections of the 2 legs of the switches

circuit #3

How does this circuit work?

If u bring 2 capacitors connect them series then connect them parallel as shown in the fig:

circuit #4

  • So, what happens that when we connect the supply to the circuit the Potentiometer works as voltage divider to supply the LDR and the Transistor with the needed voltage (Led on) . As light falls on the surface of the LDR, the LDR changes it's resistance. The more the light, the less the resistance of the LDR, the less the resistance, the less the voltage drop across it. The less the light, themore the resistance and thus the more the voltage drop across it.

  • By switching both LDR & Potentiometer, the functionality becomes the opposite(Light Detector) . the resistance is high,so the current decreases therfore the IB become smaller than its value so the switch becomes off ,led off and vice versa off

    circuit #5

    How does this circuit work?

by pushing down the switch the VBE has value so transistor switches on and by leaving the switch off the transistor becomes off

*Fun Fact*: you can replace R2 and put your fingers instead on the wire

    circuit #6

    Functionality of the components:

Works as an oscillator as we see
